Bessie is a beautiful black and white pit bull mix that was found wandering on HSEC property. She is extremely sweet and friendly. If you sit down, she will try her best to fit her entire body in your lap! She had a broken jaw that healed improperly so her face is just a tad bit uneven, which makes her tongue hang out of her mouth a lot! Don't let that stop you, she would be a perfect best friend! All dogs with the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, and on heartworm and flea prevention. Dogs six months or older are tested for heartworms. The adoption comes with a $5 coupon for Hills Science Diet food, one month free trial of pet health insurance from ShelterCare, and a free wellness exam from Animal Hospital of Pitt County. The adoption fee for dogs is $120. All dogs four months or older must leave wearing a collar. You can either bring your own or purchase one from us for prices starting at $2.
